On 13 July, H.E. Ambassador Zheng Zeguang paid a field visit to Beijing Construction Engineering Group (UK) in Manchester. Ambassador Zheng listened to a briefing by Yu Dongwen, Lead Director of Beijing Construction Engineering Group (UK), on the company's operations and learned about the challenges the company is facing and its future development plans. Ambassador Zheng commended the work of the company, noting that since its establishment, BCEGI UK has overcome difficulties and established a foothold in the market competition by relying on its strong capabilities, adapting to the local conditions, and cultivating international talent and gained wide recognition, adding that the company have won more opportunities for its own development through these efforts and built a good reputation for Chinese-funded enterprises. Ambassador Zheng hoped that the company will stay committed to its mission, continue to improve its core competitiveness, earnestly fulfil its social responsibilities, aim higher and make new contributions to economic and trade exchanges between China and the UK for the greater benefit of the people of both countries. During the tour, Ambassador Zheng and his delegation also visited two construction projects of the company in Manchester. Minister Counsellors Guo Yuliang, Jiang Lei, and Bi Haibo, and Counsellor Kong Xiangwen at the Chinese Embassy in the UK, and Deputy Consul-General Yang Zhiyu at the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester participated in the visit.
