2019/07/31

On July 31, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith of Laos in Bangkok, Thailand.

Wang Yi expressed, China and Laos are two friendly socialist neighboring countries that are connected by mountains and rivers. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. In April, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary and President Boungnang Vorachith jointly signed the action plan to build China-Laos community with a shared future, setting magnificent goals for the long-term development of bilateral relations. It ushers China-Laos relations into a new era. The two sides should make efforts to implement the plan and promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields for in-depth and practical development. The two sides should maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, strengthen experience exchanges on state governance and administration, jointly build the Belt and Road demonstration projects, and enhance mutual support within multilateral mechanisms so as to push bilateral cooperation for more results.

Saleumxay Kommasith said, the signing of the action plan to build Laos-China community with a shared future has lifted the bilateral relations to a new height and shown the close and special relationship between the two Parties and the two countries. The Lao side appreciates the Chinese side's support in its economic development, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to further deepen experience exchanges on state governance and administration, expand cooperation in various fields and intensify coordination and cooperation on international and regional issues.
