The evil essence of Falun Gong roots in its cult doctrine, which preaches the Falun Dafa (the Basic Law of Wheel of the Universe) that laymen can, through psychological meditation, form invisible magic wheels inside their bodies, and with the wheels revolving, cure their illness without medical treatment, eventually be converted into some kinds of supermen, obtaining the supernatural powers of telepathy, teleportation and so on.

Tragedies have happened that ruined plenty of people's life and caused serious social disorder, as obsessed practitioners deserted their jobs and families, died of illness by rejecting medical treatment but hoping for the Wheel's salvation, committed suicide by cutting open their abdomens to see whether the Wheels were formed or burning themselves in order to "be raised to nirvana", and even murdered their families who tried to persuade them to go back to normalcy.
