I warmly congratulate the inaugural China Business Forum hosted by London Business School. The London Business School is a world famous business school. China is the world's most promising and dynamic economy. Shifting its focus to China has opened up a new research area for London Business School and will produce useful advice for China's development.
The theme of the forum Chinese Innovation and European Opportunities is a timely and fitting one. The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is now going on in Beijing. Worldwide attention to this meeting is not without reason. This important meeting will review China's development in the past ten years, analyze the development trends in today's China and world and draw up a development blueprint that meets the requirements of the times and the aspirations of the Chinese people. I am confident that following the guidance of this meeting, China will have a brighter future. The Chinese economy will gather greater momentum.
This forum has brought together business leaders from China and the UK. So it offers an excellent platform for China-UK economic cooperation. Despite the great odds in global economy, China-UK economic cooperation has grown impressively. Bilateral trade has been growing at a double-digit rate. Mutual investment increased by many folds. In particular, Chinese companies are very optimistic about the open and free investment environment of Britain. This China Business Forum will help Britain better assess China's economic future. Moreover, it will help Chinese and British business communities build up cooperation consensus, identify cooperation direction and explore cooperation opportunities.
In conclusion I wish this inaugural China Business Forum a great success and future forums greater achievements!
