On October 28, Ambassador Liu Xiaoming met with the Rt Hon. David Miliband, Former Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, and President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee at the Chinese Embassy.
Ambassador Liu said that the current China-UK and China-EU relations are maintaining sound momentum with fruitful cooperation in various fields. He hoped that Miliband would continue to pay attention to and support the friendly relationship and contribute to the cooperation between China and the UK, and between China and Europe.
Miliband spoke highly of China's huge contribution to addressing climate change and promoting the development in Africa. He expressed his willingness to play an active role in promoting UK-China and EU-China relations.
The two sides also exchanged views on the current international situation and international rescue cooperation.
