On 6 to 7 September, Ambassador Liu Guijin, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on the Darfur Issue, visited the UK. During his visit, Liu met with Henry Bellingham MP, British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, and talked with Michael Ryder, the UK’s Special Representative for Sudan. The two sides exchanged views on the Sudan issue and other topics. Liu also attended a roundtable at the British Royal African Society, with members of parliament and scholars and gave interviews to mainstream media in UK.
Minister Chen Xiaodong and others from the Chinese Embassy attended the relevant activities.
