During a press conference held on April 24, 2013, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying answered the question about China-UK relationship.
Q: British Prime Minister David Cameron did not visit China as planned. Is this related to his meeting with Dalai Lama?
A: China-UK relations have been impaired by British leaders' meeting with Dalai Lama in May last year. China values its relations with the UK. We believe the healthy and stable development of China-UK relations serves the interests of both sides and also helps promote China-EU relations, but China's position on issues concerning its core interests is firm and unswerving. We hope the UK side could work with China to improve and develop bilateral relations through concrete actions.
